Our Industrial Medicine Department assists businesses both regionally and nationally.  We help solve the problems in rising Worker's Compensaton costs by providing sound, tested injury prevention methods to proactively reduce the frequency and severity of injury occurrences.  We assist in managing open claims by providing goal oriented rehabilitation and return to work programs and assist in maximizing efficiency through thorough case management techniques.  We offer both off-site and on-site employer assistance and strive to ensure return to maximum function and  productivity.

Effective medical managment begins prior to the injury occurrence.  Establishing sound response processes, developing open lines of communication with your employees and medical providers, preparing detailed, accurate job descriptions, and establishing an effective return to work program will ensure that you minimize the severity of any injury occurence.  Industrial Medicine Services assists employers in each of these areas in an effort to develop a no lost time injury culture within their facilities.  We provide both on-site and off-site medical management assistance programs starting with early intervention practices, and progressing to physical therapy, work conditioning, and work hardening programs.

We perform detailed work-specific Functional Capacity Evaluations in an effort to provide accurate physical capabilities for the returning employee.  Our goal is to insure the employee's safety while maximizing productive employment opportunities. We work with both the employee and the employer and ensure that the concerns of both parties are addressed. Each evaluation includes assessments to identify the employee's material handling capabilities, non-material handling capabilities, tolerance to static postures, as well as screening assessments for malingering and symptom-exaggeration behaviors.

We work closley with employers accross the nation to assist them in implementing proactive measures for injury prevention.  Our services can be customized to the needs of the specific employer to provide maximum effectiveness.  We assist by first reviewing the employer's injury history to identify the type of injuries they have experienced and the work tasks that may be contributing to the development of the work related musculoskeletal disorder.  Once identified, these work tasks are evaluated thoroughly using state of the art ergonomic evaluation methods to identify the presence and degree of injury hazard.  In a joint effort with the employer we develop solutions effective in reducing the injury potential, making the work activities safer and often more efficient for their employees to perform.  If multiple areas of concern are idenified we assist in prioritizing the intervention process to ensure the greatest reduction in injury frequency.
