The importance of hand therapy in today's healthcare environment cannot be overstated.  Our hand and upper extremity specialists team is headed by certified hand therapist, Mary Ann Gimbel, PT, CHT, and includes Stephaie Strouse, OTR/L, Wendy Luckenbill, COTA/L, and Kim Snyder, PTA. These therapists specialize in rehabilitating patients with conditions affecting the hands and upper extremities, including patients who may have been affected by an accident or trauma, patients who are injured from the effects of repetative motion disorders, such as tennis elbow or carpal tunnel syndrome, and patients who suffer from chronic problems including arthritis and neurological conditions.

Our hand and upper extremity specialists can perform and evaluation and establish an appropriate treatment plan for any problems involving the upper extremity.  They can effectively treat and rehabilitate the patient through a broad range of therapeutic methods.  Custom static and dynamic splinting is an intergral part of the hand care specialty and each protocol is individualized according to the patient's, therapist's, and physician's goals.

To ensure that the patient regains maximum function and is able to return to a productive lifestyle we coordinate progressive treatment and testing with our Industrial Medicine Department.  We engage precise functional capacity testing through occupational simulation and coordinate the return to employment process with the employer and rehabilitiation nurse for maximum goal achievement.
